The industrial character of the factory building in the third inner courtyard, used in earlier times exclusively for commercial purposes, is an important criterion for its preservation and contemporary transformation to generously-sized lofts.
Loft living in Berlin-Schöneberg
This commercial building, located in the third row behind Hauptstraße, is typical for Berlin and dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. The existing front building and side wing of the ensemble have undergone a classical renovation. In the courtyard, the outside walls of visible brickwork and extensive glazing with a subdivision that is typical of the period reflect the industrial character of the former commercially used premises. On five floors including roof extension, the historic building with a spacious layout and high vaulted ceilings on each floor offers quiet space for four generously-sized lofts.
Projecting balconies and extensive landscaping of the roof terraces and courtyard boost the urban amenity value. At the approval planning stage, space for an architect’s office was included in the ground floor. The commercial use reflects the present-day trend towards living and working in the city.
